Brief History of ANGVA


  • 2002-ANGVA was established in South Korea with its Secretariat located in the city of Chuncheon in Gangwon Province
  • December 2003-1st Board election was held in Manila, Philippines on 15th December 2003. Datuk (Dr) Abdul Rahim Hj Hashim from PETRONAS was elected as first President for 2003-2005
  • December 2003-1st ANGVA Industry Workshop was held in Manila, 15th - 16th December 2003, together with BAQ2003 (Best Air Quality Conference & Exhibition by Clean Cities Initiatives), 17th - 19th December 2003.
  • July 2005-Inaugural International Conference & Exhibition, ANGVA 2005, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (July 26-28th, 2005) hosted by PETRONAS and Malaysian Gas Association.
  • July 2005- Datuk (Dr) Rahim was re-elected as President of ANGVA for 2005-2007 during the ANGVA's Biennial Meeting on 28th July 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • February 2007- A Strategic Planning Meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur (Feb 5-6th 2007) to prepare a strategic plan for ANGVA for the next 5 years. 
  • July 2007-ANGVA Board endorsed the Strategic Plan for implementation at its 11th Board Meeting in Tehran, Iran
  • August 2007-ANGVA appoint a full-time Executive Director to head its new Secretariat office in Bangi, Malaysia.
  • November 2007-ANGVA held its second International Conference and Exhibition, ANGVA 2007, in Bangkok, Thailand (November 27-29th 2007), hosted by Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) and Thailand NGV Association
  • November 2007-Dr Chitrapongse Kwangsukstith from PTT was elected as President of ANGVA for 2008-2009 during the ANGVA Biennial General Meeting on 28th November 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand.
  • October 2009 - ANGVA 3rd Biennial Conference & Exibition (ANGVA 2009) was held in Donghae City, South Korea. It was hosted by City of Donghae.
  • October 2009 - Mr. Wichai Pornkeratiwat of PTT was elected as President of ANGVA at the ANGVA Biennial General Meeting on 28th October 2009 in Donghae City, South Korea.
